Biography
Dr. Patricia Fernández-Puente holds a PhD degree in analytical chemistry from Proteobio, Mass Spectrometry Centre for Proteomics and Biotoxin Research, at Cork Institute of Technology, Cork, Ireland.
Her expertise focuses on developments in liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry methodologies, for the analysis of different marine toxins. She performed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Proteomics Unit –GIR, at INIBIC, conjugating mass spectrometry (MS)–based proteomics to the investigation of biomarkers.
Her research has contributed to both technological innovations and original findings in MS-analysis for the discovery and validation of different biomarkers related with different diseases. Currently, she is the Responsible of the Proteomics Mass Spectrometry Unit in Proteolab, at the Center of Advanced Scientific Research (CICA), Universidad de A Coruña (UDC).
She collaborates in teaching duties, as an Assistant Lecturer in Proteomics, in two Master Degrees, from UDC. She published 37 peer-review scientific papers, as an h-index of 19 (WoS), and participated in multiple national and international congresses.
