Biography
Natividad Oreiro is a Rheumatologist in the Complejo Hospitalario Universitario A Coruña (CHUAC), since 2001. She graduated in Medicine, at the University of Santiago de Compostela and received her Ph.D. in 2011, by the University of A Coruña (UDC).
Dr. Oreiro is the Coordinator of the Clinical Research Unit, from GIR, at the Biomedical Research Institute of A Coruña (INIBIC). She has participated in more than 200 clinical trials, contributed to 43 scientific publications and collaborated in 5 biomedical research projects, focused on rheumatic diseases, such as, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erithematosus, Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis, Pain, Ankylosing Spondylitis, etc. Moreover, Dr. Oreiro coordinates the PROCOAC cohort (PROspective Cohort of OsteoArthritis of A Coruña), which currently has more than a thousand patients in follow-up and is involved in the APPROACH European project.
Dr. Oreiro is a full member of the Biomedical Research Networking Center (CIBER-BBN), a public research consortium created as an initiative of the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) to promote excellence in Biomedicine and Health Sciences research, carried out in the National Health System and Science and Technology System.
Natividad Oreiro also develops academic activity as Professor at the Master’s Degree in Healthcare Assistance and Research (MAIS), by the Faculty of Health Sciences of UDC, since 2012.
